What it is, and how it works
- About Microneedling
Also called collagen induction therapy, microneedling generates new collagen and skin tissue to smooth, firm, and tone skin. It is often paired with topical PRP, a Vampire Facial.
- How it Works
Microneedling uses tiny needles that penetrate deep layers of skin to boost collagen and elastin production.

Common questions
What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a non-surgical treatment that helps improve the skin’s appearance by creating microscopic pricks that stimulate collagen production. Also called percutaneous collagen induction therapy, it’s performed using a pen-shaped electrical tool with tiny needles. The tiny punctures encourage your body’s natural healing process, prompting the skin to produce new collagen, which helps create a tighter, smoother appearance.
What is the difference between microneedling and microneedling + PRP? Which is the better option for me?
Typically, microneedling with PRP provides better results than microneedling alone.
PRP uses stem cell science to enhance healing through its high concentration of growth factors. By infusing your blood’s PRP back into your skin, the platelet-rich plasma is delivered to the deepest layers of the skin. This stimulates the growth of new, healthy skin cells and a quick healing response post-treatment.
What is PRP and what is blood centrifuging?
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma, a substance in your blood rich with growth factors that trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration.
Your clinician will do a blood draw before the start of your appointment. This sample is then specially processed via blood centrifugation to isolate the plasma component of your blood.
How long does it take to see results?
You can expect to start seeing results within a week and should notice full results within 4-6 weeks. This allows time for your body to produce collagen and elastin as part of the healing process.
How long do results last?
It depends on your age, skin, and goals, but results typically last between 3-5 months. We recommend starting with 3-5 treatments, spaced about a month apart, to see and maintain optimal results.
What should you expect post treatment?
Immediately following your treatment, you can expect your skin to be flushed or bright red, as if you have a mild to moderate sunburn. Applying hyaluronic acid serum post-treatment can encourage collagen production.
You should not wear makeup for 24 hours and should avoid sweaty exercise, hot tubs, or swimming for 48 hours after treatment.
What are the side effects of microneedling?
You can expect to see redness and swelling for up to 48 hours after your treatment, and some people experience flaking or peeling skin. You might also see small red spots or light bruising lasting several days during the healing process. To minimize side effects, take care of your skin using gentle cleansers, moisturizers, and SPF.
Who is not a candidate for microneedling?
We do not recommend microneedling for pregnant women or anyone with active acne breakouts.
